We have just received the latest news that unfortunately the scheme will not renew for 2023/2024 which is a huge disappointment.
Please see the following details from Cycling Uk:
Dear Fox Cycle Shop
Thank you for taking part in the Scotland Cycle Repair Scheme in 2022/23. Together we have repaired and maintained more than 26,000 cycles so far, helping people across Scotland to experience the joys and benefits of cycling.
We are getting in touch because we have received news about the future of the scheme and wanted to keep you informed as soon as we could. We are hugely disappointed that Transport Scotland has decided not to continue funding the scheme for 2023/24, so the scheme will close at the end of the current phase on 31 May 2023.
We’d like to thank you for all your hard work to make this scheme a success. Since launching in August 2020, more than 360 bike shops and repair providers have fixed more than 78,000 cycles. We know this scheme has not simply been about mending bikes – having a fully functional cycle has had a lasting impact on the lives of many of the recipients. Thank you for helping to make this possible.
The current phase of the scheme will continue as normal, with all repair data due to be submitted by 31 May.
It's a sad day to see such a good thing come to an end and I can't thank the SCRS team enough with the help and support over the last 2 years and i wish them all the best for the future.
